Aesthetics and Function Combined
New Train® Line from Bauerfeind wins the iF product design award 2007, 12/06/2006
After winning the iF product design award in 2002, the design of the Train supports from Bauerfeind has received the renowned design prize from the iF International Forum Design a second time. The new Train line won this recognition among a very qualified and international competitive field in the category Medicine/Health+Care. The award underscores the successful melding of design, medical functionality and effectiveness of the new Train line. The new design strengthens recognition of the Train product line and the Bauerfeind brand.
The iF product design award was started in 1953 and is one of the three most significant design competitions in the world. An international jury evaluates the products for the iF product design award according to a comprehensive set of criteria that includes characteristics such as design quality, degree of innovation and functionality.
The innovation team and Bauerfeind Marketing developed the design in cooperation with Rokitta Product and Brand Aesthetic. Based on the principle from Bauerfeind that aesthetics and functionality are inseparable, product innovations and proven qualities were incorporated into the design of the new Train line. Action dynamic is the main feature emphasized. It is reflected in the dynamic lines as well as the constantly changing color movement of the new knit when stretched. The consistent key symbols and coloring as well as the newly integrated Bauerfeind label strengthen recognition.
