Fitting Compression Hosiery

Recommended fitting of compression hosiery

Only appropriate fitted compression hosiery is able to fulfil the total effect !!!

The tissue of compression hosiery should have an equal drop in pressure from distal to proximal to achieve optimal haemodynamics and prevent pressure marks and laces.

The patient compliance will determine the therapy success, which depends on features like wearing comfort, aesthetic aspects ... and a perfect fit, which can only be guaranteed when in advance exact measurements are taken.

Though no two legs are alike, it is important that every leg receives optimal treatment, whatever its size or shape is.

Tips for putting stockings on

  1. Turn the stocking inside out as far as the heel. Strectch the foot opening with both hands and slip the foot part over the foot as far as the instep, until the heel part fits well.
  2. The rest of the stocking is turned over bit by bit upwards over the instep and the heel as fas as the ankle.
  3. Now grip the knitted fabric carefully on the outside and stroke it in sections upwards until it lies evenly against the leg.
  4. With a pair of tights you proceed in the same way with the other leg. Smooth out any wrinkles possibly present in order to ensure a correct fitting shape and hence optimum medical effectiveness.
  5. In the case of compression tights grip with the flat of your hand into the abdomen part.
  6. Distribute the material with the two backs of your hands evenly upwards in a semi-circle.
