Measuring
- Correct measurements are important to the effectiveness of treatment.
- Measure each time if stockings are prescribed.
- Take measurement on the desinfiltrated leg i.e. in the morning or let the patient lie down for at least 30 minutes.
- Take measurement on the patient in the upright position if possible.
- If compression stockings are needed for both legs, measure each leg separately.
Most important measure points for standard sizes
- Below knee stockings (AD) (3) circumference cB, circumference cC and Length
- Thigh high stockings (AG) (4) circumference cB, circumference cC, circumference cG and Length
- Panty hose (AT) (4) circumference cB, circumference cC, circumference cG and Length
- Choose the appropriate stocking size from the measure tables provided by the companies
Most important measure points for made-to measure sizes
- If made-to -measure stockings are recommended, take all measurements necessary.
- The more accurate you take the measurements the better the stocking will fit your patient
Bauerfeind measuring tape for standard size Venotrain® stockings
On one side you find a normal measuring scale (cm/mm) in 150 cm length. The other side supports the user in choosing our standard Venotrain® stockings without using the measure tables. Circumference and length measuring points are marked and easy to take.
