Have been using this brand of knee support for jiu jitsu for over 12 years. The knit material is more breathable than the neoprene type knee support and it is much more comfortable for hours of use. To clean it, I just turn it inside out, toss it in the washer, and hang it on the clothesline to dry. Each support has lasted several years (I use it frequently each week during training and they take a beating). It isn't bulky like volleyball knee pads because it has a relatively low profile, and it fits comfortably under various brands of gi pants. I have even used it under my spats for no gi jiujitsu though it does look odd, but it saves my kneecaps from hard contact with the mat during multiple rounds of rolling at practice sessions. I have worn them under jeans (not skinny jeans) when I strained my IT band and it was comfortable to walk around in during the day. Quality has been good. Haven't had anything (the cushion material or the support stays) pop out or tear. I only replaced them because of abrasion of the outside material that resulted from doing jiu jitsu. Would recommend this even though it is expensive, but the German quality has been good.

Following the sizing chart, the knee sleeve fits perfectly. It was a little tough to put on as the sleeve it much longer than the ones I already have. At this point, the knee was still a bit irritated from my injury; this was after 4 days have passed with some R.I.C.E involved. I put the sleeve on and instantly I felt a lot more stability on my left leg. I took my dog for a walk and did some light jogging towards the end the walk. Small irritation, but a big difference from when I had it off. 3 days later for our next game I wore to play. I didn't play much, probably like a good 7-8 minutes total at almost my usual pace. Other than the small restrictions it has on your movement, it is definitely a game changer, without this sleeve, I probably would not feel comfortable playing that game. The restrictions it has as compared to my other sleeves is a bit more intense, but the security it provides is dramatically greater. Overall, I definitely recommend this product if you're looking for a knee sleeve to keep you off the bed and maintain close to your regular physical activity. There are different versions of the GenuTrain, so read the description that best fits your knee support needs. I just bought another one for my right, because I just love the support it gives overall; just until I get back into shape. Having to rely on knee braces should be avoided.
